Our high quality standards are secured not only by our co-operation with selected suppliers, but also through a complex quality assurance system which is defined in our HACCP concept (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point Concept).

Cold chain controls and regular inspections of the production facilities by our staff form an integral part of our quality assurance, the process is further enhanced by close cooperation with our trading partners, service providers, accredited laboratories, and authorities.

Following years of trading we have built excellent relationships with suppliers all around the world. Moreover, we select our suppliers by the following criteria:

• first-step control competence

Each of our different products has a precise specification.  These specifications, along with the highest quality standards, are also taken into consideration when determining our choice of suppliers.

By strictly adhering to our HACCP guidelines each product type undergoes an individual, product-specific risk assessment procedure. This enables us to apply pre-defined, exact test parameters of the following kind:

• chemical
• microbiological
• physical
• sensory

In addition to our numerous procedures and tests quality checks are also carried out by our trading partners. For specific products random samples are also tested by local independent laboratories in the country of origin. In Europe we are working with an independent, officially certified German food chemist. On admission into our cold storage house, our goods are thoroughly tested according to our HACCP guidelines.

With Nordfrost-group we have selected a new experienced logistic partner who meets our high quality standards after the HHLA (Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG) closed our old cold store in Große Elbstrasse at the end of 2016 .

Our new cold store in Trettaustrasse 22, 21107 Hamburg is equipped with a state-of-the-art warehouse management system and has more than 100 years of experience dealing with fish and seafood products. This ensures optimal storage conditions for our products and a strict and and thorough observation regime to guarantee the required storage temperatures are kept.

As an EU-approved cold store it operates in compliance with a strict HACCP concept according to EU guidelines. Furthermore, it is certified as per DIN EN ISO 9001:2015. Its certification according to the Council Regulation (EC) No. 834/2007 and Commission Regulation (EC) No. 889/2008/ DE-ÖKO-001 authorizes the warehouse to store organic products.
